Austin personal injury attorney Jessica McKinney has successfully resolved over 1,000 cases through negotiation, mediation, and jury trials across Central Texas. Jessica fundamentally believes that to be successful, there needs to be trust, respect, and cooperation between an attorney and her clients.

Jessica was born in El Paso, Texas and moved to Austin at an early age. She grew up in its unique culture of live music, outdoor living, and live and let live way of life. After graduating from McNeil High School, she attended St. Edward’s University and graduated in 2010 with a bachelor’s degree in International Business.

Although parting with Austin was bittersweet, Jessica left Texas to attend Drake University Law School in Des Moines, Iowa in a search for new experiences and a hands-on approach to learning the law. After graduation, she spent a year working for ASISTA Immigration Assistance, a non-profit organization dedicated to training and helping lawyers navigate the intricate realm of immigration law. During this time, she also served as in-house counsel to Trident Research, an engineering firm that specializes in developing military testing instrumentation.

After leaving ASISTA, she joined the team at Stowers & Sarcone in Des Moines, Iowa where she handled multiple family law cases including divorces, child custody, child support, as well as modification and enforcement issues. She also assisted on several complex state and federal criminal matters. It is during this time that Jessica had her first taste of personal injury and products law. She was immediately drawn to fighting for the injured against the big insurance companies and manufactures.

After five wonderful years in the Midwest, Jessica returned home with her husband and two fat cats. She was offered an opportunity to learn the ins-and-outs of personal injury law with an established firm in Austin before co-founding McKinney Vos four years later.
